FAQ
About the two Sahihs and how to read them.
Sahih al-Bukhari and Sahih Muslim — the two most rigorously authenticated collections of the Prophet Muhammad’s ﷺ sayings, regarded across Sunni scholarship as the most reliable books after the Qur’an.
Each is divided into books (kitāb) and then chapters (bāb). Open a collection to browse its books, then a book to read its hadith in the classical order.
Sahih al-Bukhari holds 7,614 and Sahih Muslim 7,563, counting narrations repeated across different chapters.
Every hadith is available in the original Arabic alongside English and Urdu translations, shown side by side.
Both books are Sahih (authentic) by definition. Each hadith still shows its grade and the source of that grading, with cross-references linking related narrations between the two collections.
Either. Many begin with Bukhari for its rigorous arrangement; Muslim is prized for its precise, theme-based ordering. One hadith a day from either builds the habit.
